Borssele 1-2
Borssele Wind Farm (official name: Borssele wind farm zone) is a collection of wind farms under construction off the coast of Zeeland. Via a connection to Borssele, the parks have been supplying electricity to the Dutch energy grid since April 2020. A total of 173 wind turbines with a combined capacity of 1.5 gigawatts will be built in the area.
Ørsted is responsible for the marshalling activities at areas 1 and 2 of the Borssele wind farm zone. Borssele 1 and 2 will have a combined capacity of 752 megawatts (MW). The wind farms are located in shallow coastal waters with a maximum depth of 38 metres.
The wind farm will be equipped with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy 8 MW turbines with a 167-metre rotor. Ørsted will install 94 turbines and expects the park to be fully operational before the end of 2020. Sif made half of the monopiles. GeoSea carried out the installation of the foundations. Sif's Logistic Services team also handled the marshalling activities for all 94 monopiles at Maasvlakte 2.
